About Kerry International Film Festival:
Kerry International Film Festival (KIFF) takes place in Killarney, Co. Kerry in October. Over the past 22 years, KIFF has become a vital element of Kerry’s cultural landscape, delivering a unique film experience to the local community with our annual festival and multiple screenings across Kerry during the year.
KIFF is dedicated to bringing new cultural experiences through film to Kerry audiences. Through our carefully curated work, we deliver new and diverse film experiences, creating a hub of film creativity and appreciation, by championing the work of, both established and emerging, local and international filmmakers.
Role summary:
Our Audience & Outreach Coordinator is a key support to our senior management team. They are responsible for coordinating and running KIFF year-round outreach events, including outreach/bespoke events during the festival. They will also take an active role in related audience development and youth engagement. Successful candidates will also be responsible for the financial administration for these events including any necessary funding applications and reporting.
We are looking for someone who has strong ties to the Kerry arts community, with excellent written English, who is self-motivated and can work to deadlines, to be part of a small driven team.
It is a flexible, remote, part-time position from May to August, with a choice of hours, but an increase in less flexible hours from August to December. The role requires the candidate to be on-site for certain key KIFF events.
Responsibilities
General office administration, including calls, emails on behalf of the organisation.
Drive the local awareness and publicity of the festival.
Assisting with deliverables for brochure, poster, graphics and physical marketing, including copywriting, brochure coordination, proofreading and copy editing.
Coordinating and sourcing new funding, venues, community and cultural partners and sponsors for specific screenings and outreach events.
Applications and reporting specific to outreach events and audience development.
Delivery and coordination of outreach and collaboration events, including site visits.
Audience, Guest and Filmmaker coordination during the festival.
Targeting marketing for specific events & festivals, outside of and during festivals.
Assisting with the delivery of events, awards and industry programmes during the festival
Youth programme delivery and audience development for a young adult audience.
Presenting reports and updates to the board when necessary.
Promoting sustainable working practices and reducing the environmental impact of the festival.
Working with the Festival Director to ensure appropriate tracking and reporting, including financial.
KIFF’s goal is to produce 5-7 outreach events in 2022, including Culture Night & Cruinniú na nÓg.

Person Specification
Essential
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable with copy editing.
Based in Kerry or in the surrounding area.
Clean driver’s Licence with access to a car.
Willing to travel across Kerry.
Strong ties to the community.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (including video calls).
Meticulous attention to detail and highly organised.
Creative problem solver who is punctual and reliable.
Financial literacy in preparing budgets and financial reporting.
Ability to prioritise workloads and coordinate workflows between team members to meet deadlines.
Self-starter with the ability to work accurately at the necessary pace and speed.
Knowledge of Kerry Arts Industry.
Fluent and confident with all social media platforms.
Comfortable with garda vetting and working with kids.
Willing to help out other team members of the small team on other duties if required.
Positive and upbeat person.
Desirable
Fluent Irish Language speaker.
Contacts and relationships within Kerry education, arts or commerce sectors.
Passion and knowledge of arts, film and/or film industry.
Experience in developing fundraising strategies and brokering partnerships within an arts and/or cultural context.
Creative thinker who is excited to think outside the box and pitch ideas.

Terms & Conditions
Job title: Audience & Outreach Coordinator
Reporting to: Festival Director
Pay: Flat fee, dependent on experience
Hours:
Start dates – Estimated Early May.
May-Aug, flexible & remote part-time, with a choice of own hours.
Late Aug-Oct, increase in less flexible hours, especially on the run-up to festival launch & festival dates. (Oct 20 – 23rd)
Contract: May- Nov
